Help Those Taking the Great Journey Home: Workshop Offers Guidance on ‘Dying Consciously’

(PRWEB) September 29, 2010

Tomas Bostrom (http://www.bostrominc.com/workshop), shamanic energy healer, staff instructor with the Healing the Light Body School, and certified Dying Consciously teacher, will present a training workshop on “Dying Consciously: The Greatest Journey.” The workshop will be presented Friday, October 15, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Saturday, October 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Unity Church of Ventura, 700 E. Main St.

“In the West we no longer remember how to die with grace and dignity,” Bostrom says. “We shuttle the dying off to hospitals where death is often considered a failure—the result of an unsuccessful battle with disease. Families are frequently without help at the passing of their loved one. Too many people die in fear, with unfinished business and unresolved issues.”

In contrast, the Dying Consciously workshop offers practical skills based on ancient shamanic wisdom that can help individuals die in peace, with a consciousness free of fear and negativity. It is designed for all persons involved in the dying process: the individual, family members, friends, hospice workers and other caregivers. The workshop is also for the living—“because a proper understanding of death helps us to reorder our priorities and live life more fully. It enables us to transform death into an ally,” Bostrom says.

Topics covered in the workshop include:

The Luminous Energy Field—understanding the changes that take place in this reservoir of vital life force as an individual prepares for the Great Journey home.
Great Life Review—giving the dying a chance to review their lives and complete unfinished business while still alive eases the Great Life Review that takes place in the spirit realm after death.
Cleansing the Chakras—clearing the energy centers of the body so that accumulated traumas and toxins do not keep the luminous body earthbound.
Great Death Spiral—rites for releasing the luminous body from the physical body immediately after death.

Of his work, Bostrom says, “I am so grateful to be able help bring this valuable body of knowledge to the world. Two years ago my mother became critically ill, and I was able to use the same skills at her bedside to ease her pain and suffering and assist her graceful transition to spirit. Perhaps an equally great gift was that these processes also helped my family experience her passing in a peaceful, loving and mindful way. It was then that I realized what a powerful and timely gift the Dying Consciously work is.”

Other workshop participants have had similarly meaningful experiences. “I used the death rites to release my Mom 39 hours after she passed,” said one woman. “It was powerful. I truly was able to feel her and say goodbye to her at that time.”

Completion of the Dying Consciously workshop qualifies participants to be certified as Dying Consciously volunteers through The Greatest Journey online network. Cost of the workshop is $ 125. Registration and payment in advance are required. To reserve your space, or for more information, contact Tomas Bostrom at tombojai(at)sbcglobal(dot)net, or 805-798-5648, or visit http://www.bostrominc.com/workshop.

AllInfoAbout.com Launches a New Website to Deal with Death, Dying, and Grief Issues

AllInfoAbout.com Launches a New Website to Deal with Death, Dying, and Grief Issues

Greenback, TN (PRWEB) June 24, 2006

The UK-based All Info About network welcomes Wendy Jackson of Greenback, TN as the Correspondent for one of their newest sites, All Info About Death and Dying (http://www.AllInfoAboutDeathAndDying.com). The purpose of this website is to give clear and truthful information on the difficulties facing people on a day-to-day basis, whether they are losing (or have lost) a child, parent, sibling, spouse, friend, lover or even a pet.

AIA Death and Dying was launched this month, and Jackson brings personal experience of the loss of her young son to the table in her effort to make this “not just another grief site.” Instead, the site focuses on issues such as generational differences in coping with grief, dealing with court systems after losing a loved one to an accident or violent crime, and even includes a death and dying poetry corner, where readers can submit their work in an effort to help them with the grieving process.

Jackson will be providing free articles, advice, and resources of value to anyone dealing with the tragedy of losing a loved one. Readers will find helpful books and links across the Web, as well as information regarding will and estate planning, helping others with the grieving process, how to keep a dying loved one comfortable, and talking to children about death.

The death and dying poetry corner is a special feature of All Info About Death and Dying, aimed to serve as an outlet for individuals to express their grief creatively. Site readers are welcome to participate in the poetry corner by submitting their own poetry for publication. All poems submitted to be shared with the community must be death poems, dying poems, or grief poems.

About Wendy Jackson

Wendy Jackson is a freelance writer who lives in Tennessee. She created All Info About Death and Dying due to the lack of information that grieving people seek which can aid them on a day to day basis after they lose a loved one. Jackson’s son was killed in 2000. It is her hope that individuals who find themselves facing death and grief will find All Info About Death and Dying different from other death, dying and grief websites.

Author Brings Death and Dying to Forefront of Conversation. Provocative Topics Promote Thoughtful Discussions About Life and Death.

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) April 26, 2011

Newly-released book, Living Life Dying Death: A Guide to Healthy Conversations about Death and Dying to Inspire Life and Living by Jennifer Collins Taylor, MSW, encourages readers to have meaningful conversations about death and dying with family, friends, and loved ones. An accessible guide, the book allows readers to explore their personal thanatology (the study of death and dying) and philosophy of life.

“Openly discussing one’s thoughts and feelings about death and dying greatly enhances life and living for both healthy individuals and the terminally ill,” says Taylor, who drew from personal loss, as well as years of experience in hospice care and as a certified music practitioner. “When we treat death and dying as a taboo subject, we wall-off an important part of ourselves from those we love and those who love and care about us. We are better understood and make informed decisions about critical end-of-life directives, such as financial and healthcare, when we have deeply personal conversations with others.”

Living Life Dying Death’s reflective topics include: compassion, dreams, fear, goodbye, gratitude, grief, honesty, hope, humor, joy, mystery, pain, patience, peacefulness, philosophy of life, relationships, and many more. Most importantly, her work encourages spoken words of love and care in each conversation and emphasizes, “the words of the conversation may be forgotten, but love remains.”

In addition to the book, Taylor created the Mourning Bracelet for times of grief, loss, and remembrance. Her instrumental harp CD, Life Beyond Words allows the listener to relax, dream, and find comfort in an atmosphere of peacefulness. All items are available on the website http://www.livinglifedyingdeath.com.

Originally from Iowa, Taylor now lives in Arizona. She is available for presentations. Living Life Dying Death is available in hardcover, softbound, and as an eBook. For more information, or to schedule Taylor, visit http://www.livinglifedyingdeath.com, call 480-201-5697, or email jennifer(at)livinglifedyingdeath(dot)com.
