Kia Reveals All-New ‘K9’ Flagship Sedan for Korean Market

Kia reveals all-new K9 KH

SEoul, Korea (PRWEB) February 29, 2012

Kia today revealed the first official photographs of its all-new flagship sedan to be launched during the first half of this year in the Korean market. Referred to by its codename ‘KH’ until now, the company also confirmed that the Korean market name will be ‘K9’ – while the name for export markets, as well as overseas launch timings, will be revealed later this year.

K9 is Kia’s first rear-wheel drive sedan. It boasts Kia’s ‘best of the best’ design, driving performance and high technology capabilities and is regarded as one of 2012’s most eagerly anticipated all-new models in both Korean and overseas markets.

This model’s Korean market name, K9, will complete Kia’s domestic market ‘K’ series range of passenger cars, whose members also include the front-wheel drive K5 (Optima in overseas markets) and K7 (Cadenza in overseas markets) sedans.

The letter ‘K’ represents not only Kia and the company’s home country of Korea, but also refers to the Greek word ‘Kratos’ (meaning powerful, domination and reign) and the English word ‘Kinetic’ (meaning active, dynamic). The ‘K’ series trio of sedans is a strong statement of Kia’s determination to offer consumers the broadest product line-up and establish itself as a major presence in the global automotive industry through ceaseless innovation and technological developments.

The K9’s exterior gives solid form to the recently released sketches of the new model, and presents its design concept, ‘high-tech luxury sedan’ image, with futuristic, sophisticated and distinctive charisma.

K9 is the latest continuation of Kia’s evolving design DNA, carrying its family-look radiator grille, bold ‘high-tech luxury car’ style LED headlamps, with classic design echoes in its voluminous hood. Viewed from the front, K9 presents an imposing image.

Furthermore, the sophisticated and bold profile with its simple but strong character line and the innovative and stable rear view with its high-tech LED combination lamps, luxurious chrome garnish and bumper-integrated muffler, completes the parameters for whole new level of luxury car design.

Soon-Nam Lee, Director of the Overseas Marketing Group, said, “K9 is our first rear-wheel drive large sedan, created without compromise in its design, driving performance and new technologies. K9 sets a whole new level of standards and values in the large sedan segment, and its design will be another Kia demonstration of our brand’s power to surprise the world.”

Big4.com Releases News Video on Key Developments at KPMG

Big4.com Releases News Video on Key Developments at KPMG

Big4

New York, NY (PRWEB) February 27, 2012

Big4.com, the premier social networking forum for professionals and alumni of Accenture, Andersen, BearingPoint, Capgemini, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers PwC announced today the release of its weekly news video.

Each week Big4.com covers key news, events, happenings, opinions and blogs relating to all the Big Four accounting and consulting firms. The video can be viewed on the Big4.com website and on Big4.com’s channel on Youtube.

This week Big4.com has a special video focused totally on KPMG, covering the following developments:

Increased budgets for market expansion despite market woes

Internal combustion engines are not going away anytime soon,

10 “megaforces” that will significantly affect corporate growth globally over the next two

decades,

Global Summit with key recommendations for sustainable business,

Coffer Peach Business Tracker shows business in UK pubs and restaurants slowing

Latest proposals could reduce FATCA costs for the global insurance industry by $ 3billion

Increased budgets for market expansion despite market woes

According to KPMG‘s annual Consumer CFO Survey, over 80 percent of all respondents believe marketing to new middle class consumers in emerging high-growth markets will drive long-term success. KPMG’s 2012 Consumer CFO Survey: Turning Global Risk into Opportunity surveyed 350 financial executives (34 from Canada) in the retail, consumer goods manufacturing and luxury goods sectors.

Key survey findings include:

Canada and the US expected to offer greatest growth potential in 2012
Supply chain efficiencies a priority for Canadian consumer companies
Leveraging the power of digital for consumer engagement a top trend
Sustainable practices evolve as a core business issue around the world

10 “megaforces” that will significantly affect corporate growth globally over the next two decades

A new KPMG study, Expect the Unexpected: Building Business Value in a Changing World, explores issues such as climate change, energy and fuel volatility, water availability and cost and resource availability, as well as population growth spawning new urban centers. The analysis examines how these global forces may impact business and industry, calculates the environmental costs to business, and calls for business and policymakers to work more closely to mitigate future business risk and act on opportunities.

The KPMG research finds that the external environmental costs, which today are often not shown on financial statements, of 11 key industry sectors jumped 50 percent from US$ 566 to US$ 846 billion in 8 years.

Internal combustion engines are not going away anytime soon

KPMG’s 13th annual Global Automotive Executive Survey finds that while the industry continues to weigh the benefits and challenges of various electrified fuel technologies, the ownership of the e-components space (battery management and chemistry, power electronics, e-motors, battery cells and packs, etc.) will draw intense competition among original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers. Fifty-four percent of respondents said that electric component suppliers will gain a bigger role by 2025 and 40 percent of respondents predict that OEMs will lead in that area in addition to traditional power train technologies.

Global Summit generates key recommendations for sustainable business

Recommendations were released recently from KPMG’s “Business Perspective on Sustainable Growth: Preparing for Rio+20” global summit. Summit attendees agreed to the recommendations as part of the meeting’s goal of providing business input to Rio+20, the upcoming global policy summit in June. Yvo de Boer, KPMG’s Special Global Advisor on Climate Change and Sustainability noted that the meeting’s findings included near-unanimous recommendations for Rio+20. Among them, policy leaders should provide long-term, stable and transparent policy frameworks and incentives to scale-up investment in sustainable development.

Coffer Peach Business Tracker shows business in UK pubs and restaurants slowing

The Coffer Peach Business Tracker the industry sales monitor for the UK pub and restaurant sector, collects monthly performance data from 23 major operators. The indicator showed a few characteristics in it’s recent report including:

Eating-out slows in January after bumper December
    Like-for-like sales down 2% on 2011

Leading UK pub and restaurant groups saw collective like-for-like sales fall 2.1% in January against the same month last year – although total sales, which include the effect of new openings, were still ahead 2.2% on January 2011.

Latest proposals could reduce FATCA costs for the global insurance industry by $ 3 billlon

Rob Lant, insurance tax partner at KPMG recently commented on the fact that UK insurers’ hopes that they may have been excluded from the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) regime have been dashed by last week’s release of proposed regulations from the IRS. He said the FATCA challenge will remain a significant and complex one for the insurance industry with many products still within scope. However he felt there are nevertheless reasons to be positive.

The good news, according to Lant came from the fact that UK insurers should be deemed compliant foreign financial institutions (FFIs) if an agreement is reached between the UK and US governments as indicated in their joint statement.

Zondervan Looks to be First to Marketplace with Adult & Youth Bios on NBA Sensation, Jeremy Lin

Zondervan Looks to be First to Marketplace with Adult & Youth Bios on NBA Sensation, Jeremy Lin

Linspired: The Remarkable Rise of Jeremy Lin

Grand Rapids, MI (PRWEB) February 23, 2012

“It’s Official: Linsanity is for real.” ~ Time Magazine

“My New Year’s Resolution: love God more deeply and intimately by Dec. 31 than I did on Jan. 1.”

~ Jeremy Lin

Zondervan announces today the release of Linspired (both in an adult and youth edition), scheduled to hit shelves in April 2012. Penned by best-selling sports author and journalist Mike Yorkey, Linspired reveals the inside story and the remarkable and meteoric rise of Jeremy Lin, superstar of the New York Knicks and the first American-born player of Chinese or Taiwanese descent to play in the NBA.

As an added feature, Linspired will include interviews from tennis’ Michael Chang, the first notable Asian-American athlete, and Lin’s pastor, Stephen Chen, of Chinese Church in Christ in Menlo Park, California. Pat Williams, the senior vice president of the Orlando Magic, also weighs in on this phenomenon.

Readers will discover the journey of the underdog who beat the odds to reach his current stardom and catch the attention of the sports world with both his incredible basketball skills and his on and off-court example of faith, persistence, and hard work. Lin’s sheer love of the game, his infectious enthusiasm, and his heart for play has injected both Knick players and fans alike with a new love for the sport and path to victory.

“I’m not exactly sure how it is all going to turn out, but I know for a fact that God has called me to be here now in the NBA. And this is the assignment that He has given me. I know I wouldn’t be here if that wasn’t the case. Just looking back, though, it’s been a huge miracle. I can see His fingerprints everywhere,” Jeremy Lin said in an interview with author Mike Yorkey in Linspired.

Zondervan Vice President and Publisher Tracy Danz said, “We have the opportunity to share an exceptional story of a young man who has captured the hearts of so many. We hope to honor Jeremy Lin by telling his story as he so humbly honors Christ and influences a country.”

Lin received no athletic scholarship offers out of high school and was not drafted by an NBA team after graduating from Harvard in 2010. A surprising performance in the NBA Summer League led him to signing a deal with his hometown team of the Golden State Warriors, but after only one year of play, he was waived. He was then picked up by the Houston Rockets and again he was let go, this time on Christmas Eve 2011. In spite of this disappointment, Lin always remained positive and trusted that God had a plan for his life and talents. Soon after, Lin was picked up when the New York Knicks needed a guard. After weeks of sitting on the bench, a teammate’s injury placed Lin on the court, and since then he has captivated sports fans throughout the world with his tremendous skill and humble response.

“Just as stories like Jeremy Lin don’t come along very often, so do opportunities to share those stories with readers hungry to learn more about Jeremy Lin,” said author Mike Yorkey. “It’s all happening so fast for Jeremy, arriving at the busy intersection where sport, religion, fame, and pop culture meet. I’ve been following Jeremy for more than a year, interviewed him at length, and think highly of his public stand for his Christian faith. I’m looking forward to partnering with Zondervan to share his amazing story with readers.”

New Leaders for Premier Political Science Journal, APSR

(PRWEB) February 24, 2012

The American Political Science Association (APSA) and Cambridge University Press are pleased to announce the next editorial leadership of the American Political Science Review, the flagship scholarly journal in political science. Beginning in July 2012, the new APSR editorial team will be led by Professor John Ishiyama and colleagues Professors Marijke Breuning, Steven Forde, and Valerie Martinez-Ebers from the University of North Texas (UNT). The APSA Council appointed the new team to a four-year term, renewable for an additional two-year term. Professor Ishiyama will serve as the lead editor for the initial two years, after which time lead editor role may rotate among members of the editorial team with the consent of the team and the APSA Council.

Professors Ishiyama, Breuning, Forde, and Martinez-Ebers will assume leadership of the APSR from the current APSR editorial team located at UCLA and led by Professor Ronald Rogowski. What is Zoloft?

Zoloft is an SSRI antidepressant marketed by Pfizer Inc. that was approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) in 1991. Zoloft is used to treat major depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder and anxiety disorders. SSRI antidepressants like Zoloft relieve patients’ system by altering the balance of the serotonin in the brain.

According to the [mayoclinic.com/health/ssris/MH00066] Mayo Clinic, SSRIs are the most commonly prescribed antidepressants. However, a number of studies have linked SSRI antidepressants, including Zoloft, to an increased risk of birth defects when they are used during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, when many expectant mothers do not know they are pregnant. In 2006, a study published by the [nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa052744] New England Journal of Medicine found that women who used SSRIs like Zoloft after the 20th week of pregnancy were six times more likely to give birth to an infant with persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN). In another study published in the [nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa067407] New England Journal of Medicine in 2007, researchers found that babies born to women who used Zoloft during the first trimester of pregnancy were twice as likely to suffer heart-related birth defects. The most common heart defects seen in that study were ventricular outflow defects and septal defects.

Just last month, a study conducted by researchers at Sweden’s Karolinska Institutace found that children born to women who took SSRI antidepressants, including Zoloft, face double the risk of having a baby born with PPHN, a life-threatening lung condition. The study, published in the [bmj.com/content/344/bmj.d8012] British Medical Journal, involved 1.6 million live births in five Nordic countries that occurred from 1996 through 2007.

At least 59 lawsuits have been filed in courts throughout the U.S. alleging a mother’s use of Zoloft was responsible for a child’s birth defects. Recently, Pfizer filed a motion with the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation seeking the consolidation of all Zoloft birth defect lawsuits in a multidistrict litigation (MDL No. 2342). Pfizer requested that the proposed Zoloft MDL be transferred to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York or, alternatively, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi, or the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. According to a [jpml.uscourts.gov/Hearing_Order-3-29-12.pdf] notice issued on February 13, the Panel will hear oral arguments on Pfizer’s motion on March 29 in San Diego, California.

There is still time for families who believe Zoloft or another SSRI antidepressant caused their child’s birth defect to file their own lawsuits against the makers of these medications. The new website provides a full e-commerce experience and dynamic online tools to help hockey goalie consumers purchase, learn and get equipment guidance from goaltending experts – and to see all the latest and greatest hockey goalie gear at the best prices.

Pure Goalie has also added video for many products to help shoppers get more information and become more familiar with the products which they are considering for purchase.     Easy to find specific hockey goalie product using the dynamic navigation tool. Dynamically narrow down to brand, price, size and color with the click of a mouse.
The traditional search box helps users find what they need in a quicker fashion.
Customers can mouse over on the shopping cart icon on ANY page on the site to get a quick glimpse of what is in their cart.
An online customizer which lets goalies build their own gear, in their own colors, featuring dynamic, on-the-fly color changes and extensive customization options.
Pure Goalie offers select goalie gear to be viewed in 360-degree angles by using a mouse to spin the product around.

David Nectow, President of Pure Goalie parent company TSG Enterprises, LLC., commented, “We are very excited to launch our new Pure Goalie website, which we truly believe to be the simplest and most informative e-commerce site on the internet for hockey goalies. Not only do our customers continue to have access to all the goalie gear at the best prices, but they now have a forum to learn, watch videos and have the best goalie experience overall on the web. We look forward to launching even more features online in 2012 and serving our online customers better than anyone else who sells goalie equipment.”

OneHourPayday.com Launches New Educational Resources on Payday Loans

OneHourPayday.com Launches New Educational Resources on Payday Loans

One Hour Payday

(PRWEB) February 19, 2012

OneHourPayday.com is pleased to debut new educational articles on its site. OneHourPayday.com provides a new avenue for customers in search of convenient, secure payday loans. In addition to the secure, simple application form and easy-to-use borrowing process, the website now provides a broad range of educational resources helping customers make the right decisions about borrowing quick cash online. OneHourPayday.com is no longer just a source for borrowing from the most reputable network of payday lenders, but also a resource for learning about responsible finances. The educational resources and the application process are available to all site customers directly from the OneHourPayday.com homepage.

“Our first priority at OneHourPayday.com is to provide an excellent customer experience,” says company spokesperson Bradley Vaughn. “This means not only providing easy access to a trusted network of lenders competing for our customers’ loan needs, but also supplying the information our customers need to make the right loan decisions. The result is a secure, reputable site that provides customers quick and convenient service and all the information they need. By learning from the educational resources the website provides, customers can benefit from visiting OneHourPayday.com without even applying.”

Customers can visit the website at any time and complete the application process from the comfort of their home or office computers. The information, as well as the application process, is free of charge, so there are no fees associated with making the right decision about one hour payday loans. The articles on the site detail how the process works, from application to approval to repayment, inform customers about the laws and regulations surrounding the payday loan industry, and provide tips on personal finance and how to properly use and repay quick cash advances.

Because they are unsecured loans, the interest rates may be higher than with traditional loans from banks or other traditional lenders, but there is no credit check required in order to gain access to these loans, which not only speeds up the process but allows borrowers with less-than-perfect credit scores to still be able to borrow emergency cash. Payday loans should only be used in emergency situations, and are often used by borrowers to repay medical bills, unforeseen auto repair expenses, or overdraft fees. OneHourPayday.com’s advice can help those in debt manage expenses and get their finances back on track.

Furthermore, whether people are applying for loans or not, OneHourPayday.com can be a resource for learning about the payday loan process.
